  1. Some dutch Pride you have got there! This boat was build as the Philips Innovator for the 1985-1986 Withbread. Skippered by Dirk Nauta. (second place on handicap) After that she was modified with lot's of Titanium and Spectra she was +/- 2500 kg lighter then before. The boat was made a little bit longer and got a bigger sail plan. In the 1989 Fastnet race , after rounding the rock (preparation for the next WRRTW) she was hit by Marionette which was sailing upwind... To bad. A lot of damage. The navigator on board was Marcel van Triest. Few years later he sailed on Intrum Justitia.

  2. Designed by Rolf Vrolijk, built at Aluboot. 63ft IOR. Lucky to be built in aluminium as that allowed the hughe hole in the hull from the fastnet race to be repaired in time for the start of the Whitbread, just 3 weeks later. In the 89/90 Whitbread this yacht went on to win the non-maxi division. Great memories :-)
