Peppermint - Three Quarter Ton IOR Yacht

Peppermint is a Carter Ragtime Three Quarter Ton IOR Yacht. The picture I took many years age of her berthed at East Cowes Marina. Dick Carter design. The yacht has been modified from the original design if you look at the stern. Look in my blog for the following yachts HEATWAVE and RAGTIME which are Carter Ragime's and you will see the difference.
Where is this yacht now ?
Is she still racing ???

  1. Hello,

I am the owner of that beautiful sailing ship!
I live in Brest, Brittany, west end of France. I bought her near Bordeaux.
I had had tough work on her during late winter... I am making her up to go racing (races in "Finistère")

I was wandering on Internet to look for information about my boat (race history...) but didnot find lot of pages!

    1. Hello, I just came across this by sheer coincidence!
This yacht used to be owned by my father many years ago (1996 ish?) I remember many races as a young child on board her.
At that point she was based at the Humber Yawl Club on the Humber Estuary, England.

  2. Hi,

Since I know that page, I regularly come to see any reply!
I just wanted to say that I've had my very first long regatta with PEPPERMINT during late weekend, with strong wind and big waves, and the only thing I can say is that she is very fine in strong conditions!

Any way to get in touch with your father Rich? I'd really like to know much more about her!

    1. Hey!
I appreciate you may no longer own the boat, but if you still do then you can contact my father through his sailing business.

I think I have some old photos I can try and find.
